Corrosion tests of steel prepared with Boron-CLS-Bond® Grease#3 and exposure in an aggressive environment
The corrosion test method is designed as following:
Untreated steel plates are exposed to a 8% NaCl solution for 4 weeks. After the test period the treated and untreated steel sample was analysed.
Result: All samples of unprepared steel samples showed significant corrosion already after a few hours.
The samples that were prepared with Boron CLS Bond® ingredient. In the test grease 18F, under water with a water wash out of 1.9%, showed no tendency of corrosion. After 4 weeks exposure, still no indication of corrosion.
(See picture, 1000 x magnification).
Test were conducted by Micromy AB, Hägernäs, Sweden. Tests commissioned by Tribolator AB.
